Finding me: a memoir
I absolutely loved this Netflix special event, and I was sorry to see it was such a short interview. I enjoyed watching Oprah and Viola talking about Viola's upcoming autobiography - Finding me: a memoir. Call me biased, but I'm a huge fan of Viola ever since I saw her incredible performance in How to get away with murder.
Oprah does a really great job interviewing Viola about the book, she's respectful, patient and focused on Viola and her story. Using short excerpts from the book, she's able to cover major life events that shaped Viola and her search for self acceptance and self love. This special event made me an even bigger fan of Viola and I can't wait for her autobiography -both the hardcover and the audiobook- to arrive!

@cogito_ergo_sum "it's a free country", I'll spell it t-i-t-s if I wanted to... What's right or left got to do with this? If something's bland and boring then it's bland and boring. And yeah, it's amazing what people get praised and get accolades for, and by whom, these days. Btw, how's "right" the minority anyway? Just because a few people on the left care about something hard enough (ex. correcting someone's typos on the nets) not even all of the left cares for, and annoy the whole world by pointing out they care for it (and the right doesn't give enough $hit about it to even point out they don't give any $hit about it), it doesn't mean the right's a "minority". What you call "right" (and I call common sense), is the audience majority that chooses whether Netflix went too "woke" and broadcasted enough CP and lgbqt. trans-nonsense to stay relevant and in business or not, i.e. whether certain actors stay relevant OR in business. - Anyway, we'll see who's the "minority" when all the bots are gone from Twitter and normal people get their voices back.
...and yet, viola davis' skill as an actor is touted by who many consider to be one of greatest actors of our time [read: meryl streep], as the highest accolades and manifestations of success in her craft (oscar, tony, emmy, SAG), sit collecting dust on her mantlepiece, as she comes off of a critically-acclaimed 6 season run on network television, and has written a memoir that i predict will spend time on best sellers lists. and i'm "out of touch" with respect to "worthy"? the information i posted tends to suggest that your opinion is in the extreme minority...which is your right. it's a free country. not bad for a "black chick with man arms". oh...and the word, "particular"...is spelled with an "a".
@cogito_ergo_sum Are you out of touch or something? Whatever's been put up Netflix for the past 5 or more years is hardly "worthy" of anything. That's why we're here mostly. In this perticular case it's Oprah having a black chick with man arms over for a gossip session about people no one cares about or knows of.
LOL...Oprah and Viola are doing something worthy of being broadcast on Netflix...while some of you spend the waning hours of your life bitching about people who are doing something worthy with theirs. Once you come to that realization, your time will be (hopefully) better spent in more frutiful endeavors.
hahahah Oprah is still on house arrest!!
Now we know why Netflix stock tanked by 35% this week. A has-been talking to someone I never heard of is a "Special Event". Get woke, go broke. No wonder it's so hard to find a Good movie mad in the past few years.
I'll probably give it a shot, thanks! :)
Obvious typo in the title.... it should read "Oprah Viola: A Netflix Special NON-Event" ... This really is a case of "Who the hell cares?" O_O
ffs oprah......... really
Dear lord, who requested this crud...
