I watched 'Orphan' about 3/4 years ago. From then to now, I didn't expected to watch another prequel . As prequel always comes with disappointment. I can't say it was that bad but again it wasn't necessary. After so many years after 13 years!
However, when I heard about it, my joys knew no bounds, it's one of my favourite movies. But,it felt like watching the 'Orphan' again but this time, Easter is total psycho and extremely violent. Then the rest story remains the same. Twist was kind of unexpected and this is the only thing that is different from 'Orphan 'and again the ending story remains same.

Plot summary
Esther's terrifying saga continues in this thrilling prequel to the original and shocking horror hit, Orphan. After orchestrating a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. Yet, an unexpected twist arises that pits her against a mother who will protect her family from the murderous "child" at any cost.

Expected More :)
The first 5 minutes will tell you how bad this is.
The way she gets out of the mental institution is just god awful stupid. They seriously couldn't write a somewhat intelligent way for her to escape?? Nope. It has to be the every person in the mental ward is a total moron. The first one was good. This is awful. Skip it. And now it takes more words to get a review on this site? That doesn't make any sense at all. There is a new algorithm in place to censor people who leaves bad reviews or the network has paid IMDB to make it harder for negative reviews to be posted. Never seen a 600 character requirement on this site before. So I'm going to keep writing til I know I've met this ridiculous requirement.
It's a Hard Knock Life...
After years of looking for her, she is found, the daughter who was lost, is homeward bound, it's a miracle, incredible, ever so slightly unbelievable, but the family's no longer crushed and feeling downed.
There's one or two things that have changed since she's been gone, a Baltic accent probably the noted one, proficient painter and artist, accomplished player, pianist, slightly forgetful, of past memories, she has none.
It all starts off, predictably, and without flare, about half way you start to think you just don't care, but the tangents do appear, and the ironies quite clear, but you've seen it many times before, from many different chairs.

grandmother esther is so old and creepy
good movie, the beginning on the old orphan
Thanks FREEMAN
wow a non ethnic 2022 horror movie?! i'll give it a go :)
i wish they upload the right subtitles for this movie in spanish :c
Esther looks older than her mother.
I've said it once,I've said it a thousand times, the sequel(or prequel)doesn't equal. This soporific and somewhat platitudinous, drab and stale storyline hardly does justice to the 2009 original. What they did wrong in the first movie was kill off Esther by having her shot and drown in a lake. They should have let her escape and therefore allow for a half-decent sequel or even a third movie. But this movie falls short of the thrilling excitement in the first movie, not a massive let-down but a disappointment nevertheless

The plot and title they picked do not fit. Titled First Kill and the plot suggests that it is a prequel to the first movie and yet this movie references what she did in the past which is what we all saw in... THE FIRST MOVIE.
At 1 Hour 20 minutes into the movie, on your left side of your screen will her painting of her face from Part 1 of the film. Love this updated movie
They waited to long to make this. Esther no longer passes as a 7 or 8 year old child but absolutely looks like an adult pretending to be a child. This movie had an interesting plot twist but otherwise was not good.
sad to say it didn't keep up to the sequel should have come up with a better story Everything was in a rush, and no character development I was expecting some origin story...
Idk... I thought this was an okay movie.. 7/10
The blurry effect on the camera is anoying af.. besides that its "meh"... good to see once if you're a fan...
not bad
7/10
So the first movie she was a little girl playing an adult, now she's an adult playing a little girl... they waited waaaaay to long to make this sequel.
thank you Freeman
I actually started to root for Esther after a while… Tricia should have let Esther go when she asked her to. It's rare in horror movies for a killer to ask their victims to let them go before it's too late…
Decent prequel with a fun twist but too short with some pacing issues.
dixoncider 25 fps not 24 fps hence shorter runtime
This was a fun, albeit campy movie. I like the filter they used, as if to emulate a reflection or memory. The twist gave it a good kick in the ass and it was entertaining throughout the remainder. 7/10.
thanks
thx freeman
Typical 2022 Hollywood movie. Trying to turn Evil into a Good thing by blurring the lines. Because Hollywood really can't tell themselves anymore and have push the message. If you found yourself rooting for the little evil! Seriously go see a therapist!
crazy Estonians kicked out Esther because they found out her grand grand dad was russian! more anti russian hysteria
can ppl please seed!??
This is a good movie, but not as good as the first one, I like the first one more.
